NORSOK standards are formulated by the Norwegian petroleum industry to ensure that the development and operation of the petroleum industry is sufficiently safe, value-added and cost-effective. NORSOK standards are intended to replace the specifications of the oil companies as far as possible and serve as a reference for the regulations of the authorities.
